Replace Firebase Dynamic Links
Firebase Dynamic Links shut down on August 25, 2025. WarpLink does the same job on maintained link infrastructure: a link that opens the app, survives the install, and reports where it came from. Recreate each link with a few fields, swap the SDK, and your sharing flows work again.
How it works
List your old links
Firebase has no working export path. Rebuild the list from your app code, marketing materials, analytics referrers or an earlier Takeout.
Register your app once
Add the bundle ID, Team ID, package name and signing certificate hashes once per app. They replace the apn, ibi and isi parameters on each old link.
Recreate each link
The link parameter becomes destination_url. The afl and ifl parameters become android_fallback_url and ios_fallback_url. The st, sd and si parameters become og_title, og_description and og_image_url. UTM fields carry over by name.
Pick the address
The page.link domain becomes yourapp.aplnk.to or a custom domain. Custom slugs run 2 to 100 characters of lowercase letters, digits and hyphens.
Swap the SDK
Replace the Dynamic Links SDK calls with the WarpLink SDK, using an SDK key in the app. SDK 1.2.0 is published for iOS, Android, React Native and Flutter.
Test with and without the app
Open each new link on a phone that has the app and on one that does not. The first should open the screen, and the second should reach the store and then the same screen after install.
Recreate a Dynamic Link
// Recreate one Dynamic Link: link -> destination_url, fallbacks and social metadata map to fields.
const response = await fetch("https://api.warplink.app/v1/links", {
method: "POST",
headers: {
// API key from Keys > API
Authorization: "Bearer wl_live_YOUR_API_KEY",
"Content-Type": "application/json",
},
body: JSON.stringify({
app_id: "3f9a1c2e-6b7d-4e1a-9c2f-8a5b1d0e7c44",
slug: "product-123",
destination_url: "https://yourapp.com/product/123",
// Visitors without the app reach the store listing for their platform.
ios_fallback_url: "https://apps.apple.com/app/id000000000",
android_fallback_url: "https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.yourapp",
og_title: "Product 123",
}),
});
const link = (await response.json()) as { short_url: string };What you get
- Linking
- Links on yourapp.aplnk.to or a custom domain open the app through Universal Links and App Links, with separate iOS, Android and web fallbacks, social previews and UTM fields.
- Attribution
- Deferred deep linking carries the link's destination through the install. Installs that follow a tap on a WarpLink link, in any channel, are matched back to the link.
- Analytics
- Clicks and installs per link, with breakdowns by country, referrer, device, operating system and campaign source.
Common questions
When did Firebase Dynamic Links stop working?
Firebase Dynamic Links shut down on August 25, 2025. Links that relied on the service need replacing, and each one maps to a new WarpLink link.
Can I export my links from Firebase?
Firebase offers no working export path. Rebuild the list from your app code, marketing materials, analytics referrers or an earlier Takeout, then recreate each link with the API.
How do the old parameters map?
The link parameter becomes destination_url, afl and ifl become android_fallback_url and ios_fallback_url, and st, sd and si become og_title, og_description and og_image_url. UTM source, medium and campaign are the same fields. Term and content go in injected parameters.
Which SDK replaces the Firebase one?
The WarpLink SDK for iOS (Swift), Android (Kotlin), React Native and Flutter, version 1.2.0. Use an SDK key in the app and keep API keys on servers.
Do deferred deep links still work?
Yes. After the install, the first launch receives the link's destination, so the person lands on the content they tapped.
Do social previews carry over?
Yes. Set og_title, og_description and og_image_url on the link, and social apps show your preview card when the link is shared.
